2Spoopy4U

  Hey guys!

    So holiday season has officially started with the annual kick off of October and the upcoming holiday of Halloween! YAAYAYAYYAYAY! I don’t know about you guys but I get super pumped for Halloween; however this year since it’s seems I haven’t quite felt it. Thus I've compiled a list of songs, movies, books, and television episodes in no particular order that are all 2Spoopy4U.

*PLEASE NOTE:*
Some movies and episodes may not be appropriate for some audiences due to language, violence, sexual content, fright, etc. so please be aware of that and ask permission if need be and they will have a * * * by them.

Songs
(feel free to click):

Movies:

Ghostbusters:
Watch all of them. It's that simple. Ghostbusters is a cult classic series that if you haven't seen you have to.

The Lost Boys:
So I personally don't find this all too scary although I probably should. Very pretty boys with very evil motives are always dangerous and with the opening scene playing a song that will be stuck in your head for weeks after, the 1980's vampire never looked so good.

The Nightmare Before Christmas:
Tim Burton is my favorite there is no question about it. I think his work is genius and so beautiful. I'm so happy that this movie exists, and even though Christmas is a central theme here it is set in a world of Halloween and it's leading character is a skeleton, so boys and girls of every age, wouldn't you like to see something strange (and genius).

The Corpse Bride:
Tim Burton again with a gorgeous piece that sets the point of knowing when to step up, step down, hold on, and let go. With deadly (hehe) musical numbers and a quirky, star-studded cast, dark humor ties it all together to bring a masterpiece to the screen I recommend watching all year.

* * * The Rocky Horror Picture Show:
Total chaos. Two words to describe this, brillaint, brilliant, utterly mad movie. Some of you may recognize it from being mentioned in "The Perks of Being a Wallflower". Either way Tim Curry blew me away and after watching it you're gonna wanna do the Time Warp again let me tell ya.

Coraline:
 Tim Burton popping up again this time with a movie that freaks me out to the soul. I went to the theatre to see this and I haven't watched it all the way through since. Not because it wasn't good; on the contrary actually. The immense attention to detail (See Mr. Bobo) was spectacular and I applaude the story line (it was a book prior I believe). HOWEVER, it scared me witless and it didn't help those Lalaloopsy dolls came out.

Beetlejuice:
If you say his name three times in a row he'll show up and ruin things. But don't worry the same process reverses things (if you can get there).

* * * The Orphanage:
 A Spanish horror film that made me jump long after and whenever someone knocked on the door oh my god. Yet with a sentimental twist?

* * * Carrie:
A cinema legend adapted from Stephen King's novel. Sissy Spacek did a bang up job and I think Chloe Moretz is gonna nail it on the head with the new movie coming out on the 18th.

* * * The Silence of the Lambs:
Cannibals. Lots and lots of cannibalism. Also mind games

* * * Fright Night:
You can watch the original if you prefer, but I favor the remake. Anton Yelchin, Colin Farrell, Toni Collette, David Tennant, and Imogeen Poots grace this film with Farrell being the good old "vampire next door" who just happens not to be your friend. No biggie.

* * * Sleepy Hollow:
Tim Burton again so you know it's a pretty good movie.

Hocus Pocus:
Halloween is not complete without The Sanderson Sisters appearing on our screens attempting to fulfill their revenge oath in late 20th century New England. Comedy and suspense and all good things Halloween, do not forget to watch this one (like you could)

Halloweentown:
 I HAVE A THING FOR CHEESY HALLOWEEN MOVIES OK ESPECIALLY WHEN THERE ARE AT LEAST THREE OF THEM RELATED TO EACH OTHER.

The Birds:
 Alfred Hitchcock scares the dickens out of most when they watch this cult classic.

* * * The Woman In Black:
I've only seen incriments of this movie and holy yeezus.

* * * Pet Sematary:
If Stephen King the Scare King rings a bell then you've got the jist of how scary this one is. If you have pets you'll be a little freaked around them for a day or two.

* * * Heathers:
Think Mean Girls with murder.

Wallace and Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit:
We need a little cute up in this joint so why not bring out the big guns with Wallace and Gromit. It's a little suspensfull but totally cute and worth the watch.

It’s The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown:
Now that we're on the track of cute, let's bring back those childhood memories and the fun of trick or treating (which by the by you can still do), kiddie Halloween parties, and just the innocence and fun of Halloween.

Television Episodes:
My So Called Life:
This show only lasted one season (sadly) so it's got a solitary Halloween episode TIP: Watch the whole season, OK? Not only will the Halloween episode make more sense, but holy cheese on a stick Batman it's relatable whether you're still in highschool or left it behind in your dust.

Freaks and Geeks:
Once again a show that joined the Firefly club (a.k.a. Shows That Were Really Good But Got Cancelled). Like above, it's got a solitary Halloween episode, but please watch the whole series.

FRIENDS:
Ten seasons producing fantastic holiday episodes.Take you're pick and go wild.

Supernatural:
Let me help you with this one. The entire thing is spooky scary but watch out for character deaths that will throw you into emotional despair with smiles on their faces.

Doctor Who:
Any episodes with the Weeping Angels, "The Empty Child" and it's continuation, "The Unquiet Dead", "Midnight".

* * * Hannibal:
Obvious cannibalism, do not watch however if you aren't a fan of blatant gore.

Books:

The Old Willis Place:
 I read this book years ago and I'm still not over it.

* * * Dracula:
We all know what this is about, need I say more?

We Have Always Lived In The Castle:
 OK so I haven't read this one but I've heard it's pretty scary (if you've read it shoot us a message)

There you go guys! Have fun delving into this one and have a very happy Halloween! I leave you with this:

Auf Wiedersehen
